Specialist Mentoring

At Bridge, we start from a place of being empathetic and open. This is important to us to ensure students feel at ease and comfortable talking about what they may need help and support with. We understand that it can be difficult to ask for help and we will listen empathetically and work to build rapport with our students.

We work from a person-centered and holistic position knowing that every student is different and work to provide individualised support for each student.

We strive for the well-being of our students and work from a social model approach, with a sensitive understanding of individual differences, challenges and strengths.

To do this, we work flexibly with students adapting to individual needs as we know student profiles change over time, and our support changes with them. We will do this is a dependable and reliable way.

We are also empowerment focussed, we see the potential in our students and work to support them to build confidence in their skills and become self-advocates.

We support students to develop skills and strategies to take forward to develop solutions in the future to become confident independent learners.

To be able to fulfil this, all our mentors and study skills specialists take part in continuous learning and professional development to ensure that we can provide a high-quality service.
